Hello Pastor Jim, Thank you for all the information you provided on November 9th when you taught the Go & Tell Evangelism workshop and the Disciples Making Disciples Workshop. I am starting to digest it. I testified at church about the impact of the Go & Tell Ministries on me from a slightly different perspective. I let Pastor Bob Sloma discuss the day’s events. Here is what I said to the congregation: “This (testimony) is a good one. In past weeks, I’ve discussed how massive the universe is and how God is the creator of everything. This week, I have a personal testimony that ranks as my 2nd most important one this year. Think about when you go to the doctor for your annual checkup. You have a few questions to discuss with the doctor, like “Is there anything I can do for my knee pain?” or “I have a cough.” Of course, the doctor has many questions about you, like “Are you fatigued?” or “Any more problems with your heart?” All of these questions cover your body’s health. But I found a way to check my soul’s health. It is relatively easy. You must trick your pastor into joining you on a round-trip drive to Augusta. Be sure to lock your doors. You don’t want him jumping out at a stop sign. During this drive, I asked Pastor Bob some questions that I found perplexing, such as the content of prayer and the ultimate reason for prayer. The answers opened my eyes to a bigger understanding of each issue. And, of course, Pastor Bob had a few questions for me. Some of my answers helped indicate the condition of my soul. Yes, I agree. We invited Go Tell Ministries for a Workshop on Saturday. It was really good stuff! Jim came back Sunday and spoke during our Sunday School hour and preached during our Worship Service. Every session was inspiring and empowering! I’m excited to see how God uses this event in the lives of our people going forward. I highly recommend it!

Our church was really blessed to have Jim come and share his evangelism training with us. Our people really enjoyed his conversational style and storytelling. Many came away with the tools and confidence that God can use each of us to build relationships and share the Gospel with our unsaved friends and family members. “Discipling, that’s not my thing. I’ll let others do that.” Through all that God has done for me, what have I done for Him? Jim’s Go & Tell Disciples Making Disciples workshop provided me with easy-to-follow materials to help me become a disciple. Jim has reminded me that I am to love God and my neighbor. If I do this, I will create relationships with others and, through these relationships, create disciples of Jesus.

As I listened to Jim teach during the Disciples Making Disciples workshop, I was reminded that as a follower of Jesus, it is my command to go forth and make Disciples of all nations. If I truly love Jesus as I believe I do, then the desire to share His love and salvation message should pour out of me. Jim’s books and workshop don’t CREATE Disciples; they affirm and enable Disciples to GO FORTH. Jim reminded me that I already do most of the steps required of a Disciple, now GO FORTH and complete Jesus ‘ command.

As an introvert, I am uncomfortable with the “evangelism methods” I have been trained in. The term “evangelism” automatically causes my anxiety levels to skyrocket! I was not looking forward to attending my church’s Go & Tell Ministries seminar. However, Jim Halstead’s presentation confirmed my belief that sharing Christ’s gospel is more natural within a relationship. I realized that I do not have to weigh their response on me, which removes my emotions of guilt and offense. I was also reminded and encouraged to continue in prayer without ceasing for my lost family and friends. It is the Holy Spirit who draws them to Himself, and it is in His power that I am invited to witness His work of salvation in another person. It is a privilege, not a burden, to share my Jesus with others in love.

Jim takes on one the hardest areas to motivate the church. It was no small task to motivate our people to come to a Saturday event about evangelism, but it was powerful, practical, and doable. If only one person puts this teaching into practice, it will impact the church. This is an amazing resource for the smaller church, since Jim has oriented this ministry in such a way to be available to us.

I love listening to your coffee devotions. Thanks for taking the extra time to do those. You never know who will listen and learn to love Jesus.

I am Pastor John Tembo from Tanzania. I use Go and Tell Ministries resources to teach people in different churches in my country. I have witnessed churches growing in number, people being revived to share the Gospel, and disciples being made to reproduce. This material is beneficial because many churches have forgotten how to share the Gospel and make disciples.

Our bible study group has been trying to be intentional in sharing the Gospel. Jim Halstead definitely gave us great ideas and tools to do just that to fulfill the great commission in Matthew 28. A valuable resource that we were thankful to be a part of!

The study portions are helpful as they provide a biblical foundation for the concepts laid out in this book. How do I know this works? I’m one of the disciples in Jim’s story. Jim discipled me in high school. Now I’m over 50, still following Jesus, and have used what Jim taught me from those early days to make disciples. Not in a rigid way, rather in an entirely relational way. He’s understood how to reach people in all spheres of life and through relationship, prayer and scripture help those people walk into the identity Christ has had for them since the beginning of creation. The first rule of discipleship is care… care about the person, who they are, what they hope for, where they are at. Jim cared deeply for me. As a pretty lost teenager Jim was the one consistent adult who cared not just about my spiritual well-being, but about my whole life. This opened me up to the scriptures, to the work of the Holy Spirit and walking with God as a way of life. Because of Jim’s ministry I know how to share the gospel, I look for opportunities to do so and I have especially leaned into making disciples.

A friend reached out recently that she and her husband had become Christians. She explained that when I shared the gospel with her, it planted a seed. I remember the years of praying for her and God opening the door to share the gospel with her. She had moved away, and we lost touch. I was overjoyed to hear from her and her growing family that they professed faith in Christ. I shared that I had a passion for sharing the gospel from my dad and that his books had helped me. She is excited to read them as well!

I attended the Go and Tell Ministry seminar at the Murray Missionary Church. It was a great experience from which I learned a great deal about myself and my own opportunities to share the good news!

Jim taught his workshop on Saturday and reinforced his teaching with a sermon on Sunday morning. Our people were encouraged, and many have been talking with me about the weekend’s impact. The most common statements concern his simplicity in the presentation and his assurance that God will reward our efforts in evangelism if we step out in faith.

What a great weekend! Our people were encouraged and equipped to share the gospel. The training was biblically grounded and emphasized the importance of prayer, relationships, patience and love as we go about sharing the good news of Jesus. Over the weekend, Jim’s challenge motivated me to put the gospel message into practice. This means that I should actively share the message of God’s grace, which opened my eyes. I found it helpful to pray for people individually and build relationships with them. Moreover, I used the tools we learned to share the gospel message clearly, which was very valuable.

I enjoyed listening to and talking with Pastor Jim Halstead when our church hosted a Go & Tell Ministries weekend. He inspired me to share the gospel more intentionally when speaking, especially when listening to others. Now, I want to give it to God and allow Him to provide me with the right words at the right time to share the gospel of Jesus Christ in words and deeds.

We greatly appreciated Pastor Jim and his heart for people and evangelism. He taught us tools to evangelize and shared his heart and life with us. I’d recommend every church hosting a Go & Tell Ministries weekend.

I attended Pastor Jim’s three hour Evangelism Workshop. The seminar was enlightening, challenging and well worth the time invested. It reminded me of the importance of sharing the Gospel and my personal testimony, fulfilling the Great Commission outlined in Matthew 28:18-20.

I attended the Go and Tell workshop with two other leaders from our church. We left completely switched on, encouraged, and wanting to share the Gospel with the simple tools Jim taught us. The most important thing I think I could say about this experience is that I personally left with less fear than when I came. The next day one of our team led someone to Jesus in the same geography he has been doing street ministry for the last 8 years! Jim Halstead is a phenomenal person who leads a profound ministry. The Go & Tell workship really energized our church to begin praying for the person by name whom God wants us to Go & Tell them about Jesus. We are doing that every Sunday together. We are definitely planning to do the small group study!

We tend to complicate things. Jim reminds us that evangelism is simply sharing God’s story with the people He puts in our lives. We become more aware – and enabled – when we start praying for the people we are in contact and relationship with. Be willing to step out and God will help us do the rest!

I have been sharing the gospel with a young single mom for over a year. She asks lots of good questions, but doesn’t seem to be understanding. I keep praying for her, but now realize that I need to be more specific about her inability to keep the law perfectly, which is what God requires! She needs to repent!

I really appreciated how Jim emphasized praying for specific people by name. Salvation is a work of the Holy Spirit, and so our gospel witness must be saturated with prayer. Praying for specific people helps us love them better and to be more personally invested in sharing the Good News with them.

It was such a blessing to host Go and Tell at our church. Our church has been encouraged, equipped and emboldened to pray and share the gospel with those that God has placed in our lives. I’m looking forward to see what God will do in our community as we seek to be obedient to our Lord and Savior Jesus!

I am reading, Disciples Making Disciples, and am enjoying it as a daily devotional. It is one of the best I have ever seen. But the book is also a fantastic tool that can be a stand alone source to disciple a new believer.

This is a great and practical workshop to equip Christians to share the Gospel with friends and family. A very practical and interactive time sprinkled with stories that encourage and teach. Would highly recommend.

Go and Tell is an excellent resource. Jim Halstead is an excellent speaker and a weaver of relevant, poignant tales that kept my church engaged and encouraged them through the materials. Many told us that the three hours in the workshop flew by. However, the time spent with Jim Halstead was even more valuable than the workshop. His wisdom gleaned from decades of ministry is invaluable to pastors and leaders.

Since attending the Go and Tell Workshop, I have been much more motivated and ready to sow the seeds of the gospel and “bloom where I’m planted.” While I had had a heart for outreach and the unchurched already, God used the workshop to show me how little I was really loving those without Christ. The workshop helped bring together for me the priorities of delighting in God, praying for the lost, taking an interest in their lives with how to more naturally share the gospel message. For the first time in my life I feel like I truly understand that “evangelism is relational.” Praise God for how he is using Go and Tell ministries to equip the saints for the work of ministry!

So… this guy Jim Halstead came by for dinner! Haven’t seen him in 30 years… but 30 years ago he was my Junior high youth pastor at Sunrise… we got to catch up and I got to share with him that the work he invested into me way back then is still paying off… but what was super exciting was hearing about his “next steps”… he’s been a pastor, an associate pastor, has worked in the prison system, worked with people in recovery, worked with refugees, worked in bridging the gap between white and African American churches, worked in 3 different denominations, worked as a teacher with special needs students, and all through this kept driving home the message of how much Jesus loves people. This is guy who has truly walked the talk… And now in his “retirement” years is launching an entirely new chapter in creating an organization focused on simplifying evangelism. So stoked to see him again after all these years and stoked to meet a guy who isn’t even close to throwing the towel in… so encouraging!

Good Monday Morning, Jim! I just wanted to share some experiences we’ve been having here at HCC! A little less than a month ago, after Sunday worship, we led a young man to Christ! Yesterday, we had three people share, as part of the sermon, their different experiences responding to the Holy Spirit’s prompting to talk with others about their faith! Two led people to Jesus; one discovered fellowship with someone he didn’t know was a believer! We are very excited to hear these things! We are pressing forward, believing these are just the first drops of an outpouring of the Kingdom of God here in Hopkins! May Grace and Peace be yours in abundance…

My wife & I came to the workshop with the understanding a true believer will be obedient to God’s word. We came away understanding that a true believer will be obedient & share the gospel with unbelievers. We also came away with the tools to confidently engage in a relational presentation of the gospel so that the Holy Spirit is able bring them into a new life “In Christ”.

For several months now, I have gone to our church building on Monday mornings to take out the trash. I am retired, so I don’t get out of bed too early, but I usually perform this task around 9 AM. A week ago, on Sunday evening, I pondered about gathering the trash that evening rather than in the morning. So around 6 PM, I went to take out the garbage. When I arrived, there were, as usual, a couple of cars in the parking lot. There was a teen shooting basketball, and then there was a black car that was near the center of our parking lot. I started to go past the black car, but then I felt that I should check to see if someone there needed help. When I approached the driver’s side of the car, I lowered my window, and so did the young man in the black car. I asked if he needed any help. He replied, “No thanks.” I then told him that I thought he might be a member of the other group that meets here in the afternoon. He said, “No,” and I drove to the front door. As I was about to enter the building, the young man drove up to where I was. I walked back to him and asked how I might help him. He asked, “How can I be part of that other group?” There were some tears in his eyes, and I knew then that he did need help and that God had placed me there, at that time, to be His helper. I invited this stranger to my car, where we talked. Some tears were shed, and he shared some serious aspects of his life that were discussed. He listened intently to what I told

Pastor Jim really helped my husband and I to realize Evangelism is really as simple as having a relationship with someone. Having conversations and praying for them. I would highly recommend the Go and Tell Training.

Jim came and spoke this weekend in both of our worship services and led a workshop. It was an amazing time of story-telling, Scripture and awe-inspiring powerful grace. We learned about tools to use in evangelism but more than that we were reminded that Evangelism is Relational. We love people and because of that we share the gospel! This seminar is priceless if you truly want to reach lost people as Christ commanded us to do. Pastor Halstead uses very well constructed methods for developing relationship through questioning and listening before presenting the answer to all life’s problems-Jesus. These questions guide people to awareness of their sin, repentance, and the free gift of eternal life in Christ. We came to faith late in life but we want to use the years we have left to reach lost people for the Lord and we truly believe this seminar is going to help us do that. Thank you so very, very much.
