I recently came across Go & Tell Ministries: Great Commission Study – Participant Guide and wanted to congratulate you on creating such a valuable resource for discipleship and evangelism. As I learned more about your ministry, I was encouraged by how you’ve built a practical training program focused on helping believers live out the Great Commission. It’s evident that this work is part of a much larger mission to equip churches and individuals to share the Gospel and make disciples. Thank you for your dedication to equipping believers through Go & Tell Ministries. I wish you continued success as you encourage more people to live out the Great Commission.

I recently came across Go & Tell Ministries: Great Commission Study – Participant Guide, and I was impressed by your clear commitment to equipping believers to live out the Great Commission actively. By combining biblical teaching, daily study, and a structured seven-week video series, you’ve created a practical resource that encourages Christians to deepen their relationship with Christ, confidently share the Gospel, and disciple others in a meaningful and lasting way.

I recently came across Go & Tell Ministries: Great Commission Study: Participant Guide and spent some time learning about both the study and your journey in ministry. I found your background particularly inspiring. Your years of service as an ordained pastor across multiple denominations, your experience as an educator, and your long-standing commitment to evangelism and discipleship demonstrate a lifetime devoted to helping others grow in their faith and fulfill Christ’s calling. What also stood out to me was the heart behind this study. Rather than simply presenting biblical knowledge, you’ve created a practical resource designed to help believers actively live out Jesus’ command in Matthew 28:18–20. Your observation that the Great Commission has become “The Great Omission” for many Christians addresses an important challenge facing today’s Church and provides readers with a clear path toward spiritual growth and intentional discipleship. I was especially impressed by the structure of the seven-week study. Focusing on delighting in God, declaring the Gospel, and discipling others provides participants with a balanced framework for both personal transformation and outward ministry. Whether used individually or in small groups, the study equips believers not only to deepen their own relationship with Christ but also to share their faith and to help others become disciples with confidence. It’s also evident that this isn’t simply another Bible study workbook. It reflects years of pastoral leadership, evangelism training, and real-world ministry experience. The fact that the Go & Tell Evangelism Seminar has received endorsements from respected church organizations and has been utilized around the world speaks to the practical value and lasting impact of your ministry.

I just finished the Great Commission Study series, and I enjoyed your participant’s book. Most study guides are built to inform the person holding them. Yours is built to do something harder, equip someone to pass it on, so the cycle repeats. The Delight, Declare, Disciple structure isn’t just an outline; it’s the mechanism for that handoff. That’s a real design challenge, since every section has to work twice: once for the reader, once for whoever they’ll eventually teach. The “Great Commission” to “Great Omission” reframing also does real work; it names the gap plainly rather than softening it, which is harder to commit to in print than it sounds. Well done, and may the Lord use this series to raise up workers for the harvest field.

I recently came across your book, Disciples Making Disciples: Stories and Studies to Disciple Others, and was particularly interested in the practical approach you have taken to discipleship by combining personal testimony, biblical teaching, and ministry experience. Your emphasis on equipping believers to participate in disciple-making actively addresses a topic that continues to resonate with churches and ministry leaders seeking effective models for spiritual growth and outreach. What especially stood out to me was the way you draw upon more than three decades of pastoral leadership while presenting discipleship as an accessible and reproducible process. The integration of real-life experiences with scriptural foundations creates a resource that is both instructive and applicable for a broad Christian audience. Thank you for your time and for the important work you continue to do in equipping believers for discipleship ministry.

I recently had the opportunity to read A Disciple’s Walk: A Great Commission Story, and I was greatly encouraged by its clear and practical presentation of biblical discipleship and evangelism. What particularly stood out to me was the way you illustrate the disciple-making process through the relationship between Paul and George. By presenting discipleship through a relatable story, you demonstrate how one believer can faithfully invest in another, creating a lasting impact that extends far beyond a single conversion. The message that disciples are called to make disciples reflects the very heart of the Great Commission. I was especially drawn to the book’s practical nature and its emphasis on helping believers move beyond simply receiving the Gospel to actively sharing it with others. Your portrayal of spiritual growth, mentorship, and multiplication offers readers both encouragement and a model for living out their faith with intentionality.

The Go and Tell Evangelism Workshop was a great way for our congregation to see that evangelism and discipleship are for everyone! We were all blessed by the time of equipping. Recently, after the workshop, we had two new visitors at our church’s morning worship service. Our greatest evangelist and servant in the church is now an 87-year-old widow who attended the Go & Tell Evangelism Workshop. She said this recently: “After that Evangelism workshop, I just started opening my mouth”. We just all need to Go & Tell the story of His glory!

We finished up our Go & Tell Ministries Great Commission Study video class at First Alliance Church last week. The entire experience was so enjoyable. Our numbers stayed steady throughout the 7 weeks; sharing and engagement were very good, and the feedback on the content was very positive. The class was impactful (I personally loved the testimonies and your stories), and I am excited to see what God does in our midst in the coming months. Thank you for coming, sharing, and spurring us on!

A Disciple’s Walk is a very important book. It is a wonderful demonstration of how to build and strengthen the Body of Christ. It is a Story of God’s Glory!

I was recently at one of the workshops with Jim Halstead and very much enjoyed the training. I have been working with people as an addictions counselor for almost 30 years, and I have been using tools for discipleship that I have learned in my own Christian walk over the years with my patients, despite working in a secular community program. I am excited to put the new skills you taught us to use and to continue learning from your books and training videos. Thank you so much.

Had a great Go & Tell Ministries weekend with Jim. The evangelism seminar was super practical and well-organized. I also appreciated that Go & Tell Ministries has a follow-up video series called the Great Commission Study! We’re excited to see how the Lord will use this training!

Hi Jim – we’ve been using the Great Commission Study here in Crystal Lake, IL. Thank you for putting the material together for that. Well done. Very practical and thoughtful. Great job on the videos as well.

Advertised as the fastest three 3 hours in evangelism training, it not only met that expectation, but also equipped us to go do the work. It was biblically grounded and practically applied to inspire us to be engaged in the Great Commission.

I have had a calling to share the gospel since being saved. This seminar inspires me even more to do so and better equips me with effective approaches to convict people with the Holy Spirit. Sharing the Great Commission pushes me to share the gospel in all aspects of my life to influence any and everyone I can.

Over 33 years ago, I was a young, fairly clueless youth pastor at my first church. My pastor encouraged me to attend a Sonlife training seminar. The man who led it gave me hope that it could be done. He showed me that disciple-making cultures could exist in the local church and gave me practical tools to pursue that vision. At the end of the training, he thanked us and said it was his very first Sonlife seminar. I didn’t know it then, but the time I spent with him would shape the next three decades of my life and ministry. Over the years, I lost touch with that trainer, but I never lost the principles. God used them as I served as a youth pastor, senior pastor, and now in my role with The Navigators Church Ministry. In January 2026. I was attending the Disciple Makers Summit in Newnan, Georgia, when a speaker named Jim Halstead began sharing. As he spoke, details of his story sounded incredibly familiar—Sonlife, his church background—and suddenly I wondered, could this be that guy? After he finished speaking, I approached him and said, ” Yes. It was him! I was overwhelmed with emotion as I realized the man God used to give me hope at the very beginning of my ministry was standing right in front of me. Jim may never meet most of the people whose lives were impacted through his faithfulness, but I am one of them—and so are many others because of the ripple effect of disciple-making. Today, I have the privilege of investing in youth pastors, helping them build disciple-making cultures by applying principles I learned from Jim. I am deeply grateful for his life, his obedience, and the quiet, lasting legacy God has built through him.

A special thank you to Jim Halstead and for the tremendous impact he made at the “2026 Disciple Making Summit” at Crossroads Church in Newnan, Georgia. His time with us was both inspiring and deeply challenging in the best way. The powerful stories he shared, combined with his clear and compelling emphasis on the priority of evangelism and disciple making, stirred hearts and refocused attention on the Great Commission to every listener. You helped move evangelism from an abstract idea to a personal, practical calling. I know many left equipped and motivated to live out the daily disciple-making call in their lives. A truly a powerful communicator for any event a church may want to build around leadership, evangelism, and the priority of disciple-making.

The Go and Tell Evangelism Workshop was both deeply encouraging and highly practical for our church. Jim helped remove fear and replace it with a clear, Gospel centered confidence to share Christ in everyday conversations. Our people left equipped, motivated, and eager to engage the lost with love and truth.

“Greetings to you in the precious name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I used the Go & Tell Evangelism Workshop videos and booklet with our pastors and believers. We used the materials during church training and small group sessions. Our participants were encouraged and gained the boldness to share the Gospel in their villages. These teachings are very helpful for grassroots ministry and village churches like ours. Thank you again for making these resources freely available. We are grateful for your ministry and heart for the Great Commission.

Pastor Jim presented a wonderful way to present Jesus, especially to those with whom we can develop a relationship, but also to those we don’t know well at all, guided by the Spirit. He offered wonderful tools and processes, but no set formula. He encouraged all to know the process well, yet to assess the situation and, especially, to depend on guidance from the Holy Spirit. His teaching offers a non-confrontational way to sow seeds of truth, always certain that how it is received is in the Father’s hands. Jim left us cards and brochures for our outreach, as well as unfettered access to studies and small-group resources to further this ministry within our church body. I highly recommend inviting Jim for a weekend, as any church will benefit greatly from his teaching and resources.

I work with The Navigators in their church-focus branch, Navigator Church Ministries. I attended an evangelism training workshop at a small church just across the Indiana state line in Illinois. It was a great workshop. There was the vision for reaching those who don’t know Christ, a simple method for sharing the gospel verbally, and discussion about how to engage with pre-believers in relationships. The dynamics for this workshop were great with good discussion and personal application in break-out discussion parings. I recommend this workshop for evangelism training.

Thanks again for sharing your workshop with us earlier this month. Your passion for sharing the Gospel is evident. I was simultaneously convicted and encouraged. Convicted by how little I live into what I agree is an essential part of being a follower of Jesus, and encouraged by how naturally and straightforwardly you demonstrated what it looks like.

Go and Tell Ministries was a great training seminar for our church. One lady who attended stopped me the next week and said “The entire seminar was amazing, like every part.” She followed up with “And I never say that!”

What a timely voice Jim Halstead has been for our growing church family. We have been leaning into the heart of what it means to be the Church, and Jim’s clear and practical mission to equip the Church to share the Gospel and make disciples was just what we needed. With many thanks, Jim.

I appreciated Jim’s focus on prayer, navigating gospel conversations, and compassionate challenge to do relational evangelism. It was encouraging to see many church members attend the Saturday workshop and absorb the Sunday sermon. God will work through this weekend for the good of our church and the glory of Jesus Christ.

It was great to have Jim come and present the Evangelism Workshop on Saturday, and then preach on the Great Commission and discipleship on Sunday. I and others were blessed by Jim’s humble and personal example and teaching. While good tools were given for sharing the gospel, perhaps the greatest take-away was that it flows from genuine relationships and care for others. In the week since Jim was here, I’ve already been encouraged hearing how folks have been praying regularly for “their three” and looking for opportunities to speak from their hearts to introduce others to Jesus.

I really appreciated Pastor Jim’s care and concern for rural churches. His teachings were both encouraging and challenging, reminding us of the importance of not only going, but also telling the good news of Jesus. Hosting a Go and Tell Weekend is a great way to encourage your church to embrace the Great Commission with greater passion and enthusiasm.

Hey Jim, how are you? Some good news for you is that I have been helping a friend out, and way back before the conference, I was telling her about Jesus Christ. She wanted nothing to do with it, but just recently she wrote me a letter saying, ‘God, maybe, is what my family needs, and that’s all. Thanks to you, Timothy, for introducing her to Jesus Christ.’ I had prayed for this moment for a couple of years, and to see the work of God’s mighty hand at work in this family is Amazing, truly a blessing from heaven. I thought that you would like to hear about this, and may God bless you and your family.

We just had Jim speak at our National Conference. I would highly recommend Jim’ s ministry to anyone serious about evangelism and discipleship. His presentations were pragmatic and very applicable to today’s culture. You will love Jim’s down to earth manner, humor and spirit.

Having recently listened to Jim Halstead describe his experiences at a Conference in Canada, I’m honestly struck by the “organic” nature of this program. So many (sincere) attempts at Christian evangelism come across as formulaic, contrived, or even as mere “stunts”. By contrast, it was a privilege to hear Jim present a program that is as natural as it is prayerfully intentional.

The Congregational Christian Church of Canada held the National Annual Conference in Spruce Grove, Alberta, with Jim Halstead as the keynote speaker. What a gifted man of God. Jim’s presentation and workshop were spirit-led, meaningful, and uplifting. His easily identifiable leadership was evident during his presentations and further enhanced during personal discussions. The Go and Tell workshop was very inspiring. Asking questions is a great way to start a conversation about the gospel, and praying for those you want to share the gospel with is so important. I’m glad I was able to attend.

Over the weekend, I learned a lot that I can use to help communicate the Gospel message of Jesus Christ in ways that are not stressful to me or to the one I’m sharing it with. One truth that sticks with me is that I can’t talk to my friend about Jesus until I’ve talked to Jesus about my friend. Thank you, Jim!

We were blessed to partner with another church in our community to bring in Pastor Jim for the Evangelism Workshop. I was a bit nervous to see how our people would receive the teaching, but they not only engaged the teaching deeply, but want to continue the work through the Great Commission Study. I am thankful that God used Pastor Jim to equip our church family to share the Gospel.

Pastor Jim gave the 3-hour Go & Tell Evangelism Workshop to our church. It was biblically based, encouraging, and engaging, with a good sense of humor and helpful stories from his experiences. We all came away with tools and encouragement to be better witnesses for Christ. I highly recommend Go & Tell Ministries for your church or small group.

I have read A Disciple’s Walk and absolutely loved it! As someone who interacts with others about Christ and the gospel, the stories were relatable, and the answers were perfect! God’s Word speaks to me every time! It was so beautiful when Sue mentioned she professed her belief in college. I was afraid she wasn’t going to like Mike’s decision about attending church! That was really well done. God is real and His love for us. John 3:16.

Jim’s love for Jesus and his Spirit-led passion for sharing the Gospel were such a blessing during our Evangelism Weekend! His stories of salvation and practical methods inspired confidence, especially his emphasis that evangelism is relational- with Jesus and with others. Looking forward to the Great Commission study we are about to begin!

My name is Abbie Dotson. I am 25 years old and am married since 04/22/2023. My relationship with God has been tough. Before I was adopted at 6 years of age I did not know who He was. I did not know that Jesus came to this earth to die not only for everyone’s sins, but mine too. So much happened in my past; I just struggled to trust that God was and still is there for me. I ran away at 18. I hurt my family, but most of all my relationship with God. I was so full of shame and regret for all the pain I caused that I tried to take my own life. In the early morning of 08/06/2020 I was driving from a second shift job. My mind would not stop racing. I was just so over everything I swerved off the road. I ended up stranded on the side of the road all alone. I look around and all I notice is the passenger side was destroyed and my side was not. I dove out of my car and tried calling for help by yelling, but no one was around. I was scared and felt alone. I sat on the grass and immediately I was embraced with peace and comfort. Though I could not necessarily make out a voice all I heard was “go home”. A really good friend of mine encouraged me to do the same. My family welcomed me back with open arms. I still struggle at times with my faith and my personal relationship with the Lord, but I am so thankful He saved my soul by sending His only son to die for my sins. I believe with all my heart that Jesus is the reason I get to
