This is a great and practical workshop to equip Christians to share the Gospel with friends and family. A very practical and interactive time sprinkled with stories that encourage and teach. Would highly recommend.

Go and Tell is an excellent resource. Jim Halstead is an excellent speaker and a weaver of relevant, poignant tales that kept my church engaged and encouraged them through the materials. Many told us that the three hours in the workshop flew by. However, the time spent with Jim Halstead was even more valuable than the workshop. His wisdom gleaned from decades of ministry is invaluable to pastors and leaders.

Since attending the Go and Tell Workshop, I have been much more motivated and ready to sow the seeds of the gospel and “bloom where I’m planted.” While I had had a heart for outreach and the unchurched already, God used the workshop to show me how little I was really loving those without Christ. The workshop helped bring together for me the priorities of delighting in God, praying for the lost, taking an interest in their lives with how to more naturally share the gospel message. For the first time in my life I feel like I truly understand that “evangelism is relational.” Praise God for how he is using Go and Tell ministries to equip the saints for the work of ministry!

So… this guy Jim Halstead came by for dinner! Haven’t seen him in 30 years… but 30 years ago he was my Junior high youth pastor at Sunrise… we got to catch up and I got to share with him that the work he invested into me way back then is still paying off… but what was super exciting was hearing about his “next steps”… he’s been a pastor, an associate pastor, has worked in the prison system, worked with people in recovery, worked with refugees, worked in bridging the gap between white and African American churches, worked in 3 different denominations, worked as a teacher with special needs students, and all through this kept driving home the message of how much Jesus loves people. This is guy who has truly walked the talk… And now in his “retirement” years is launching an entirely new chapter in creating an organization focused on simplifying evangelism. So stoked to see him again after all these years and stoked to meet a guy who isn’t even close to throwing the towel in… so encouraging!

Good Monday Morning, Jim! I just wanted to share some experiences we’ve been having here at HCC! A little less than a month ago, after Sunday worship, we led a young man to Christ! Yesterday, we had three people share, as part of the sermon, their different experiences responding to the Holy Spirit’s prompting to talk with others about their faith! Two led people to Jesus; one discovered fellowship with someone he didn’t know was a believer! We are very excited to hear these things! We are pressing forward, believing these are just the first drops of an outpouring of the Kingdom of God here in Hopkins! May Grace and Peace be yours in abundance…

My wife & I came to the workshop with the understanding a true believer will be obedient to God’s word. We came away understanding that a true believer will be obedient & share the gospel with unbelievers. We also came away with the tools to confidently engage in a relational presentation of the gospel so that the Holy Spirit is able bring them into a new life “In Christ”.

For several months now, I have gone to our church building on Monday mornings to take out the trash. I am retired, so I don’t get out of bed too early, but I usually perform this task around 9 AM. A week ago, on Sunday evening, I pondered about gathering the trash that evening rather than in the morning. So around 6 PM, I went to take out the garbage. When I arrived, there were, as usual, a couple of cars in the parking lot. There was a teen shooting basketball, and then there was a black car that was near the center of our parking lot. I started to go past the black car, but then I felt that I should check to see if someone there needed help. When I approached the driver’s side of the car, I lowered my window, and so did the young man in the black car. I asked if he needed any help. He replied, “No thanks.” I then told him that I thought he might be a member of the other group that meets here in the afternoon. He said, “No,” and I drove to the front door. As I was about to enter the building, the young man drove up to where I was. I walked back to him and asked how I might help him. He asked, “How can I be part of that other group?” There were some tears in his eyes, and I knew then that he did need help and that God had placed me there, at that time, to be His helper. I invited this stranger to my car, where we talked. Some tears were shed, and he shared some serious aspects of his life that were discussed. He listened intently to what I told

Pastor Jim really helped my husband and I to realize Evangelism is really as simple as having a relationship with someone. Having conversations and praying for them. I would highly recommend the Go and Tell Training.

Jim came and spoke this weekend in both of our worship services and led a workshop. It was an amazing time of story-telling, Scripture and awe-inspiring powerful grace. We learned about tools to use in evangelism but more than that we were reminded that Evangelism is Relational. We love people and because of that we share the gospel! This seminar is priceless if you truly want to reach lost people as Christ commanded us to do. Pastor Halstead uses very well constructed methods for developing relationship through questioning and listening before presenting the answer to all life’s problems-Jesus. These questions guide people to awareness of their sin, repentance, and the free gift of eternal life in Christ. We came to faith late in life but we want to use the years we have left to reach lost people for the Lord and we truly believe this seminar is going to help us do that. Thank you so very, very much.

I’ve been a Christian for 59 years. I’ve taken most of the evangelism trainings offered over many years. The Go & Tell Evangelism Workshop and Go & Tell Great Commission Study video series are the best. It is doable, and I can remember the steps. It flows naturally. It aligns with the comfort of the Doctrines of Grace. Thank you!

Four years ago, I began meeting a then-first-grade boy for lunch at my local elementary school. As I met with my chatty little lunch buddy, it became clear that he was not raised in a gospel-centered home. Sadly, he didn’t know the reason for the Christmas season, nor had he ever heard that Easter was about Someone other than a mythical bunny. When the opportunity came, I shared God’s good news with my red-haired, freckled friend in age-appropriate language. I shared it again when he was in second grade, third grade, and fourth grade. Each time, he politely listened but didn’t have any questions and quickly moved the conversation away from a Savior for sin and back to soccer, spiders, or silly putty. I’ve been praying for him often over the past four years. Now he’s a fifth grader, and last week he opened the door for a conversation about eternity. We were talking about why Jesus came to earth and the gift of forgiveness that He offers. I shared with him the penalty of sin and Christ’s payment for sin. For the first time, my friend recognized that the wages of his sin deserve death and that the free gift of God for him is eternal life in Christ Jesus. “I want to accept Jesus right now,” he said, “but I don’t know what or how to pray.” I pulled out a Go & Tell gospel tract that has a prayer of repentance printed on it. He read the prayer aloud, and then I told him that God promised to save him from his sins when he prayed from his heart. “Can I keep this,” he asked. “I want to tell my class and family about what God has done for them and what Christmas is really about!”

As the Pastor of Evangelism and Discipleship, finding a curriculum to help believers share the gospel with a post-modern culture is difficult. What Go and Tell Ministries has to offer is, hands down, the best resources and training available if you want to equip your church to be laborers in the field that is white for harvest.

Was a very inspirational seminar. Should be used in every church in America. Looking forward to practicing and using for His Kingdom.

Go And Tell Ministries helped open my eyes and heart more to live for Jesus as if it was my last 24 hours to live on earth. We are given today but tomorrow is not guaranteed!

Jim was so lead by the spirit and you could see and feel his love for Jesus. GREAT ! So glad I had the opportunity to attend and learn so much.

Within his stories, our speaker made a great suggestion to pray REGULARLY for those you’d like to see saved by NAME! I prefer saying many little short prayers throughout the day when something comes to mind. But when I think about all the prayers and concerns of myself and loved ones in total, oftentimes daily prayer time seems overwhelming to me, so very much I want to pray about. Spending a longer prayer time with God is definitely one of my inconsistent weak spots. And then the next day prayer seems so long again and too repetitious, if I can even make myself do it again so soon. I appreciate his suggestion to split up the many people, organizations, and situations that you want to pray for throughout the week. Organized into daily suggestions will be very helpful for my mostly left-brained thinking. That way I can pray for many of those I want to know Christ by name, rather than lumping them all together in a general prayer request. I’d say wish me luck, but that would be ridiculous, rather I’ll ask you for a little prayer that will help me focus on more specific regular prayer more, thank you

I am a teacher and incorporate role play in my courses. Jim’s use of it in the seminar was an excellent strategy to take away fear about asking people questions that lead to spiritual conversations. His ability to communicate in a simple manner put everyone at ease and made us feel that we can share the gospel easily. I highly recommend his training.

I was given a new excitement and a better understanding of what it means to Go Tell by attending a Go & Tell Evangelism Seminar. The stories told by Jim Halstead moved me and also filled me with sadness that I didn’t understand the way to do this so effectively. I want to take a moment and give a word of recommendation for Jim. I’ve known Jim for over 25 years and his heart for evangelism/discipleship. He is one of the guys who really gets it. For years you could find Jim at local coffee shops meeting with people, discipling them, and doing the work – not just talking about it. He is a great communicator, has been a community leader in education, and is a shepherd’s shepherd. I wouldn’t hesitate to put my family under his ministry. The Go & Tell Ministries was an unforgettable weekend, encouraging and equipping us as a church! Your testimonies of the power of the gospel at work, as you have shared with so many people, were both humbling and exciting, and witnessing that power, I pray, would encourage us, even more to never be ashamed of the gospel! You gave lots of great practical ways to be engaged in evangelism, from praying for specific people to simple methods of developing relationships and how to communicate the good news of Jesus Christ. My wife Annette and I, and each of our children, have a specific person (or people) we are now praying for and looking forward to what comes next! Our church is planning to go through the follow-up study soon. I’m excited to see how God will continue to change our lives and the lives of others, to love Him and our neighbors more, and to always be ready to give a reason for the hope we have in Jesus. I have been a Christian for over three decades. During that time, I have been mentored and attended several seminars on the topic of reaching the lost for Christ. Many of them were very good, but none of them ever touched on the “how to” better than the Go and Tell presentation that I was fortunate to attend. After I went to one of the seminars, I felt more equipped to reach out in complete confidence to anyone to share the truth about the risen Son of God. Good job…Go and Tell.

Many are concerned about the future of Christianity in America, and with good reason. The most important cure for what ails the Church is a renewed appreciation for the heart of the Gospel message and the ability to communicate that to others. The kind of training in evangelism offered by Go and Tell will not only enable people to effectively witness to Jesus Christ, it will deepen the faith of those trained and encourage them in their walk of faith.​

Dear Pastor Jim, I want to thank you for sharing your website with me. I have listened to all sessions and have taken helpful notes! I have also fully investigated your website. You are certainly right when you told me you have the gift of evangelism. You have put together one of the most comprehensive, loving effective ways of evangelizing I have ever listened to. So many of the sources you have quoted from are wonderful but the way you brought them all together is a gift from God! My Bible study I attend has around 200 women and I cannot wait to take it to my leadership. Lastly, thank you for emphasizing not pushing a person into praying a prayer. I did the study of Follow Me this summer and I know that this can lead to false conversion. The F.I.R.E and L.A.W., the bridge and the Christian Wheel were very helpful. I am thankful for how you taught us to let the person pray their own prayer of repentance! I love letting the Holy Spirit do His work rather than me trying to mess up His work. Go and Tell is a perfect tool to use in sharing the Gospel! It isn’t a presentation but rather a simple step by step story of how much God loves his creation and how he made a way to restore his children to his kingdom through His son Jesus. This method of evangelism works and should be a part of every Christian’s toolbox.​

The Go and Tell series was well received in our men’s group. I was amazed how enthused our group was. I am praying for boldness for the men and myself and open doors for all of us… I am going to share Go and Tell with Ed and ask that we can do this with Willoughby CRC in Langley and then the surrounding CRC churches in the area and then Classis. Will get back to you about Go and Tell and we are so very grateful with Go and Tell.​

We highly recommend the Go and Tell Discipleship Seminar. Pastor Halstead was so helpful and was very open handed in sharing this curriculum with us. It was so easy to plan because we were able to use his online book and combine his video presentations with some personal teaching. This made it possible for us, a church plant, to train 50 people, over two Wednesdays evenings, on how to share their faith with friends and family. What a blessing! If you get a chance to share this with your congregations, we believe it will have Kingdom impact.​

The “Go and Tell” training seminar is aptly named. We know we should go. We know we should tell others. But…., we have so many excuses. Hearing the personal examples, being reminded to listen, to love our neighbors, and to believe God is already at work ahead of our conversations were the main points I took away from Pastor Halstead’s training. I was amazed how easily he incorporated familiar witnessing techniques into practical ways to share, grounding them in the teaching of the Heidelberg Catechism. I left encouraged and inspired to listen to my neighbor and to pray for an opportunity to talk about more than just the usual neighborly things. After 20 years in church ministry and training in evangelism, this three-hour seminar was a wonderful review as well as a spurring on to do what Jesus said, “Go and Tell!”​

I found the Go and Tell evangelism training seminar to provide an excellent tool for everyone who seeks to witness to those who do not know Christ. Strengths of this method include its Biblical and Doctrinal foundation, respecting established relationships, the small amount of material one needs to learn, and the versatility one has to follow the Spirit’s leading. It is useful for someone who is just learning to witness or for someone who has been sharing the gospel for a long time.​
