When we read the Old Testament, it can sometimes be easy to focus on the names, numbers, laws, journeys, and historical events without seeing the bigger picture. But Scripture tells one unfolding story of God’s plan of redemption, and that story ultimately points us to Jesus.

Numbers 1–2 describes the organization of the people of Israel as they journey through the wilderness. While these details may seem far removed from the life and ministry of Jesus, they are part of the larger story of God’s work among His people and His plan of salvation.

Everything points to Jesus.
