Henry Wadsworth Longfellow’s famous poem, “Paul Revere’s Ride,” tells the story of a courageous messenger who warned others of approaching danger. The poem begins with the unforgettable words, “Listen, my children, and you shall hear…” and celebrates Paul Revere’s determination to spread an urgent message that would impact generations to come.

As followers of Jesus Christ, we have been entrusted with an even greater message, one that brings eternal hope. Through His death and resurrection, Jesus made reconciliation with God possible for everyone who believes.

In 2 Corinthians 5:18–20, the Apostle Paul reminds us that God has given every believer the ministry of reconciliation. We are Christ’s ambassadors, called to faithfully proclaim the Gospel and invite others to be reconciled to God through Jesus Christ.

Like Paul Revere, we have been entrusted with an urgent message. But instead of warning people of an earthly danger, we proclaim the Good News of salvation, forgiveness, and new life in Christ.
